Independence Day Fireworks Washington DC 2015

Fireworks. Parades. Red, white and blue everything. When you celebrate the 4th of July in DC, you’ll be immersed in the patriotic festivities – and swept away by the excitement. Check out our list of the best parades, parties and Independence Day fireworks. Washington DC 2015 is the place to be this holiday weekend!


  • Independence Day Parade – Don’t miss this spectacular procession, which kicks off at 11:45AM and rolls down Constitution Avenue and 7th and 17th Streets. Broadcast around the country, this traditional 4th of July live music concert features the National Symphony Orchestra and top pop artists performing patriotic tunes. The show is free, and no tickets are required. Admittance begins at 3PM, and the music starts at 8PM. (West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building)
     
  • 4th of July Fireworks on the National Mall – Following the live music concert, you can witness one of the country’s biggest fireworks displays over the monuments and treasures of the National Mall. Fireworks begin at dark, usually around 9:15PM, and are launched from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool over the Washington Monument. Other locations where you can see the fireworks include the Marine Corps War Memorial, near the Rosslyn Metro station, Long Bridge Park, and along the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
